Form A Charity Running Crew

For first time charity runners that have taken the massive step to signing up for a longer distance charity event including ultra marathons for charity or marathons for charity, long distance running can be a lonely sport, however this doesn’t have to be the case. Find yourself a charity running crew. Having a charity running crew can improve your performance, and also a whole load more motivation,  purpose and enjoyment to your charity running event. Choose your crew wisely,  do you like jokes, find a town clown (who can run) and you can push that much closer to your limits when you are feeling low.

Your charity running crew may or may not actually participate in your final charity event and if they don’t make good use of them as spectators on race day. Also if they are unable to train with you, what’s not to stop them just handing out sugary sweets and recording your lap times, they can also provide support& encouragement when training is done.  Over time your friendships will blossom and your crew will know more about you and what makes you tick to keep going!

Whether members of your crew participate in your charity event or not, they will enjoy being part of your charity running journey and will share great times together working towards fantastic causes and personal goals. A crew member can celebrate with you sharing  the highs of your charity running experience, and the lows if you need support.
Charity running really is a feel good sport for all those that it touches, not just the charity runners. Get your friends & farm involved and  you can all share a little bit of what you love doing while benefiting your chosen charity.
